Our client is a technology supplier for metallurgical and chemical plants, i.e. sintering and pelletizing of iron ore, calcination of alumina, roasting for gold and zinc production as well as plants for the production of sulphuric acid.
Start: ASAP
Duration: June 2022
Tasks:
Manage the procurement activities for the assigned project(s) to ensure best value for all goods and services.
- Suppliers market research for the extension of the supply base.
- Manage the procurement process for projects.
- Prepare request for quotation in cooperation with engineering.
- Hold negotiations with suppliers.
- Participate in contract drafting (terms conditions, content) in cooperation with tax, legal and financing department.
- Place purchase orders.
- Follow-up of purchase orders until delivery.
- Check of invoices.
- Enforce and improve the group procurement processes, rules, policies and procedures.
- Reduce corporate spend and support the quality of delivery.
- Organise expediting and inspection
- Strengthen supplier relationships.
Requirement:
- Technical education preferably with a specialization in business administration or
- Commercial education with technical affinity or
- Any education with engineering project execution experience
Skills, knowledge & experience
- Computer proficiency, knowledge of Excel
- Basic knowledge of data base usage, administration and design is an asset
- Fluency in English is crucial,
- Knowledge of Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian or Chinese is beneficial
- Ethics, accuracy, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work in a matrix organisation
- Potential for leadership of small teams
- Flexibility for continuously changing work and cultural environment, technical process, commercial work flow and location of activities
